Tape Face
Friday, April 21, 2023 8:00 PM

As seen on America’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent: The Champions, the Tape Face experience is an utterly spectacular and endlessly inventive comedy show created by New Zealand comedian Sam Wills. Through simple, clever and charming humor aimed at satisfying that hunger, he has created one of the most accessible and enjoyable shows the world has ever seen, a magical brand of physical comedy and unbelievable feats of the imagination.

Tape Face transforms every object and audience member into an active plaything. Shoes sing, empty dresses dance, and electrical tape blossoms into roses; he creates a world of possibilities where the only certainty is laughter.

Hailed as “the funniest show in Las Vegas,” Tape Face is currently headlining at Harrah’s Las Vegas and has performed more than 1,000 shows over the past five years. In addition to sell-out crowds in Las Vegas, Tape Face regularly sells-out festivals and engagements all over the world and is a favorite at countless festivals including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The Commodores
Friday, May 5, 2023 8:00 PM

For three decades, the Commodores have remained a force in the music industry. “The Legends of Motown,” “Hit, After Hit, After Hit,” “Grammy Award Winners,” “All the Emotion, All the Excitement,” “If You Haven’t Seen Them Live, You Haven’t Heard The Commodores.”

The Commodores aren’t just any group. They have staying power. Just like their hit song “Brick House,” the Commodores have created a foundation that just won’t budge. After churning out hit after hit in the Motown days, the Commodores still hadn’t achieved Grammy recognition. This wasn’t to be until 1986, without Lionel Richie, when the Commodores released “Night Shift”.

In 1968, the group was formed while all the members were in college at Tuskeegee Institute. After being discovered by Berry Gordy, the Commodores went on to sell over 60 million records for Motown. With hits like “Machine Gun” and “Sail On”, the Commodores became proven artists. They proved it then. They proved it in 1986 with “Night Shift”, and now they are ready to prove it again.

Unlike many other groups, the Commodores haven’t rested on their early hits. Quite the contrary, the Commodores have continued to put out quality work. With the creation of their new label, the Commodores released Commodores Hits Vol. I, Commodores Hits Vol. II, Commodores Christmas, and Commodores XX-No Tricks. The newest CD Commodores Live was recorded during the groups 1997 U.S. tour and released in December 1998 along with the TV special of the same name.

The successful Commodores of the present have not only produced six new albums, and embarked upon a world-wide tour, but have created their own record label, Commodores Records and Entertainment. Today the Commodores stand not only as talented and successful musicians, but as artists determined to continue their success into the future.

A Bronx Tale Starring Chazz Palminteri
Saturday, October 14, 2023 8:00 PM

Bronx-born and raised Chazz Palminteri wrote A Bronx Tale in 1988. The powerful one-man stage play depicted his bruising childhood which included witnessing a gangland killing when he was nine years old. Palminteri played 18 characters and brought them all to life in his autobiographical play. His friends, enemies and family came alive on stage. Hollywood Studios went crazy after seeing it and offered him millions of dollars to turn it into a major movie. There was one catch…they wanted to put a star in the role of Sonny and someone else to write the screenplay. With $200 dollars in the bank, Palminteri said no, he would hold out and wait. He wanted to play Sonny and write the screenplay.

Then, one night Palminteri walked into his dressing room and sitting there was Robert De Niro who just saw the show. He said it was the greatest one-man show he’s ever saw. Robert DeNiro gave Palminteri the chance he was waiting for, and, as they say in Hollywood, the rest is history. Palminteri wrote the screenplay for the film A Bronx Tale and then most recently wrote the book for the Broadway Musical. It was the first time in history that the same actor wrote the one-man play, the movie, and the Broadway Musical and starred in each one. The show you will see now is the exact show Chazz Palminteri did 34 years ago with just a chair that made him a star.

Croce Plays Croce 50th Anniversary
Friday, October 27, 2023 8:00 PM

Multi-faceted singer/songwriter A.J. Croce is hitting the road again in celebration of two more of his father Jim Croce’s legendary albums, 1973’s Life and Times and his final release, I Got A Name, in addition to songs from You Don’t Mess Around With Jim.

The Croce Plays Croce 50th Anniversary show features a legendary band (including drummer Gary Mallaber, bassist David Barard, guitar/violin James Pennebaker) and a moving multi-media presentation accompanying Jim’s songs (which on the previous tour included memorable hits, “Operator (That’s Not the Way It Feels)”, “Time in a Bottle,” and others). It was fan-demand for more, and the camaraderie that A.J. felt with the audience, the players, and the connection to his father’s timeless music that inspired A.J. to embark on the 50th Anniversary tour for 2023. “We’ll be playing songs representative from all three albums, and also some songs the audience might not know from more obscure artists that I realized connected me and my father. It was those songs that eventually led me to do this show in the first place.”

During last year’s raved-about performances, A.J. shared intimate aspects of his dad’s career. He also drew praise for his own style and musicianship (he’s known for one of the most unique keyboard styles in music) as well as his sensitive insight into Jim Croce’s enduring musical canon. While Jim Croce’s indelible music catalog still resonates on classic radio, streaming platforms, and more recently on hit films and TV shows like Django Unchained and Stranger Things, it is A.J.s unique showmanship that has helped enliven Jim’s amazing legacy. One reviewer aptly noted: ‘…A.J. Croce invites the sold-out crowds into his father’s worldview and work mindset, culminating in the playing of Jim Croce tunes…making for an intimate experience riddled with wryness and humor...’

The two Jim Croce albums that turn 50 in 2023 are considered among Croce’s finest, with Life and Times, originally released in January of 1973, delivering the game-changing hit “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown,” which became the Songwriter’s Hall Of Fame inductee’s calling card, hitting #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, and ranked as the #2 song for all of 1973. I Got A Name was his final studio album (and the first posthumous release by Jim), with the title song being released the day after his tragic plane crash which occurred on September 20, 1973. The album also featured the smash hit ballad “I’ll Have to Say I Love You In A Song,” and “Workin’ At The Car Wash Blues,” among others.
